Backpacker's Oatmeal
Combine
in a Ziplock before trip:
Backpacker's Apple Crisp Recipe By "Backpacker's Cookbook" by Margaret Cross and Jean Fiske
Serving Size : 4
Package Together:
3/4 C Flour
3/4 C Brown Sugar
1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
1/2 C Margarine
Package Separately:
3/4 C Evaporated Apples
Water -- as needed
1. Simmer apples in water according to package directions.
2. When well heated, but not completely cooked, add the sugar/flour
mixture and spread in a frypan. Continue cooking until mixture is bubbly
and thickened.
Makes about 6 Sierra cups.
