Our Pastor
Bruce Schmidt is the son of Edwin and Dellora Schmidt. He was raised in Max, ND on a small grain/livestck farm.
Bruce received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Economics from NDSU in Fargo, ND. He later earned his Masters degree in Education from NDSU.
Bruce married his high school sweetheart Ranae. It was due to Ranae's testimony and prayer for him that resulted in Bruce accepting Christ into his life at a revival service at College Church in Olathe Kansas. He was sanctified later on in his life at an evening service at District Assembly in Jamestown.
They have three children. Sara was married to Ryan August 2007
and suffered a stroke three weeks after their wedding. She is making
great progress. She is working hard at therapy and continues to
improve. Amy recently graduated from college and is starting her
career in marketing and graphics designing. Tyler attends Beulah
High School.

Bruce worked for the NDSU Extension Service for 20 years in several areas of the state. During this time, he and Ranae were active lay members in the Church of the Nazarene in Valley City, Minot First, Beulah, and North Laymen's Retreat.
During District Assembly in 2002, he felt God calling him into the ministry. Bruce struggled with his call questioning if it was only emotions, the possible affects upon his family, and the possibilty of moving for additional schooling. Bruce accepted his call to the ministry after much prayer, having to learn patience, waiting on God's timing, and finally fully trusting in God.
In 2003, he accepted a call to the church in Beulah where he is currently serving as pastor. He is very grateful to the Beulah congregation and to Dr. Jim Kraemer for the opportunity to start his ministry in a community that he has lived in since 1989. Bruce was Ordained June 21st 2006 at the Dakota District Assembly held at Mitchell, SD.
Bruce is truly thankful for each and every day, and he trusts God more every day. His years as pastor at Faith Community have been filled with many "God things" and he is looking forward to seeing how God will be using him in the years to come. |
