COURSE OF STUDY REGULATIONS

 

1.  Each candidate is instructed to download the Handbook for Christian Ministries in order that he or she may become familiar with the details of the program. 

 

2.  College students are responsible to submit to the board documentary evidence of academic standing at the close of each school year, in harmony with the Manual and the Handbook for Christian Ministries The student should have the institution send an official copy of their transcript to the secretary of the Dakota Ministerial Development Board. College students are reminded that “degree requirements” may differ from “course of study requirements,” and to plan their curriculum in harmony with the Manual and the Handbook for Christian Ministries. The transcripts of a student's work at graduation will be evaluated by the Dakota Ministerial Development Board. No requirements stated in the Manual will be waived.

 

3.  The candidate is required to complete a minimum of two courses of study annually.  It is the responsibility of the candidate to report the course work completed to the Dakota Ministerial Development Board secretary before the annual interview for the District license or by December 31. Work thereafter will be applied to the following year, unless permission is granted by the Dakota Ministerial Development Board and District Superintendent.

 

4.  All transcripts and course completion copies from the Educational Institutions will be on file until Ordination of candidate or request by the candidate to withdraw.  The candidate has ten years from the date of first District license to complete the course work.

 

5.  In order for work to be applied on the current assembly year, it must be submitted by December 31 of that year. Work filed thereafter will be applied to the following year, unless permission is granted by the Chairman of the Ministerial Studies Board and the District Superintendent.

 

6.  Those holding Local License will be under the direct care of their local pastor. Pastors of the local church are responsible to inform the Dakota Ministerial Development Board secretary on the renewal of Local Licenses each year. Failure to report will be grounds for dropping said student from the Course of Study.

 

7.  No waivers will be given in the Modular Course of Studies Program. Course-to-course substitution will be managed by the Dakota Ministerial Development Board, if course descriptions are comparable to the course in the Modular Course of Studies.

 

8.  The candidate is responsible for all course changes that have not been completed. It is to the student's advantage to complete courses in any one level before going to the next level.

 

9. Candidates should be prepared to appear for an interview as called upon by the Dakota Ministerial Development Board, at the time and place specified.

 

10. The Handbook for Christian Ministries and the Modular Course of Study, are copyrighted and must not be modified without explicit permission by Pastoral Ministries.
